The passion for gardening and plants is an ever-present hobby in all corners of the world. This very passion is what first planted the seeds of thought that eventually bloomed into MYeFlora. The concept behind MYeFlora is to create an online gardening community that is interactive, informative, and fun(!). Connecting you with other gardeners who share in your joy and zest for gardening is our mission, along with sharing in your gardening thrills and woes. At MYeFlora.com you will find resources, information, and ways to interact with other community members. MYeFlora aims to fill the void of the online gardening community, and nourish it with a site that is appealing, easy to navigate through, and (we won’t hesitate to repeat) fun(!).

As you navigate through our pages, one thing that you may notice is that every section here is unique and different from the others. We chose this kind of layout because every part of a garden is distinctive with its own representation, identity, and flavor.

The first phase of MYeFlora launched on September 5th, 2005. With many additional phases in the works, there is much more to come – just as your garden grows, so does MYeFlora! With a development team working diligently, you are sure to see many new tools and resources sprouting up on our site regularly.

Why “MYeFlora”? Because the name is ethereal and fun! But it has a meaning too… the name expresses our concept. MYeFlora translates to: your (MY) online (e) garden (Flora)

Our concept of MYeFlora developed in a time where we felt in serious need of Flora's advice! One of us found ourselves with a 2-acre empty plot of land (Carina), and the other in a city longing for nature and plants (Vanina). After much time of searching through the web for guidance and ideas, we felt entangled in the crowded resources available online that didn't represent the exhiliration or openness of a garden. Instead of allowing our frustration to shrink away our passion for gardening, we found ourselves nursing a seed of thought... we knew there existed an opportunity to build a community where gardeners globally can come together in a site that was fun and interactive. Thus, our mission became clear, and our passion in nursing this mission has continued to grow like a weed in a lawn! There's a green thumb in all of us, whether we realize it or not.
